  • 3/4 cup plain dry bread crumbs
  • 1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • 6 (about 2 lbs.) boneless, skinless chicken breast halves
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 jar RAGÚ® Old World Style® Traditional Sauce
  • 1 cup shredded part-skim Mozzarella cheese (or Parmesan cheese)
  1. Sift flour and set aside.1
  2. In a saucepan bring to boil milk, salt, vanilla, lemon zest, sugar and butter. Remove from heat and allow to cool for 1 minute.2
  3. Add flour and stir vigorously using a firm spatula until well combined.3
  4. Stir in 1 egg and stir well until the egg is completely incorporated and dough is smooth.4
  5. Repeat with the remaining eggs, one at a time waiting for previous added egg to be fully incorporated.5
  6. Heat oil to 375°F. Carefully drop generous tablespoon amounts of dough in hot oil and allow them to float to the surface. Once well golden turn upside down. Remove from oil when both sides are golden.6
  7. Place on paper towel and toss into cinnamon sugar. Serve warm.
