Air Fryer Butterflied Chicken Drumsticks

Ingredients

  • Chicken Legs
  • Oil
  • Seasoning of choice

Prep Chicken Legs

  1. Pat chicken dry. Using a sharp knife, make 1 cut down the center of leg, along the bone. This will help open up the chicken leg meat for the next step. Make 2 more cuts on each side of the chicken bone. (don’t cut all the way through) Push the meat flat.

Cook

  1. Season and oil the legs until we’ll coated. Place butterfly chicken into the air fryer basket in a single layer (best to put cut side down first) and air fry at 400°F for 20-25 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 165°F.  Remember to flip halfway through cooking time. If the drumsticks are small, start checking at 20 mins.  Be sure to not overcrowd the airfryer.  Cook time also depends on size of chicken legs and air fryer.

Optional:  Chicken Drumsticks can also be cooked on the grill.  Follow normal cooking procedures for grilling chicken legs.
