Chocolate Peanut Butter Pretzel Bars

Prep: 10 min, Cook: 20 min

16 Servings

Ingredients

  • 4 cups FINELY crushed pretzels
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 13-14 ounces sweetened condensed milk (regular or coconut)
  • 2 King Size Hershey Bars (broken into pieces) OR 1-1/2 cups milk chocolate chips

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F °F. Line an 8×8 baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. In a food processor, grind pretzels to a fine consistency, and set aside. (pretzels can also be placed in a large ziplock bag and gently crushed with a rolling pin or heavy object)
  3. In a saucepan over low heat, melt the peanut butter and condensed milk together and stir to combine.
  4. Add the pretzel crumbs to a large bowl and mix in the peanut butter mixture, stirring until well coated.
  5. Press the crumb mixture into the prepared dish and bake for 15-20 minutes or until set.
  6. Remove from the oven and sprinkle on the chocolate. Return to the oven for 1-2 minutes, remove, and use an off-set spatula to spread the chocolate chips evenly across the top. (if desired, garnish with a pretzel on top while chocolate is warm)
  7. Cool before cutting.
