Our Food Town+ savings program has undergone something of a refresh to make its benefits available to more people, to serve as a better resource when you’re building out your grocery list — and to help ensure you never miss a money-saving deal! So, what’s changed, and what should shoppers like you know? (We’re glad you asked.) Read on to learn all about the improved Food Town+ savings program!
Food Town+ is our way of making grocery shopping more rewarding by giving you easy access to digital coupons, manufacturer coupons and special savings tailored to the way you shop. In addition, it gives you the chance to earn points with every dollar spent on applicable purchases. You can use those points to earn money off future grocery runs!
Our most recent update introduced changes designed to make the program available to more people while also helping you make the most of available savings. Here are some important highlights.
The Savings+ Pad is every deal lover’s best friend. You’ll find it at the register just before you reach the credit card terminal, and it closely resembles a credit card machine itself. When it comes time to check out, you’ll enter the 10-digit phone number attached to your Food Town+ account. (And this is where the magic happens, neighbor!)
As your cashier scans your items, the Savings+ Pad is scanning our system for available savings. When it finds a coupon for a scanned item, it plays a little tune and shows the coupon on the screen. You can tap to clip it right then and there! (Please note: Procter & Gamble coupons must be clipped prior to checkout. If you clip a Procter & Gamble coupon after the item has been scanned, the system will hold onto the coupon for your next purchase. Expiration dates apply.)
The Savings+ Pad is also where you take advantage of available rewards. If you’ve earned enough points to get money off your purchase, a Rewards tab will appear on the screen. Simply tap it and select the reward you want to use.
In addition to the above, the Savings+ Pad helps ensure you’re earning points for every applicable Food Town purchase. That’s why entering your phone number is so important! See? For one tiny machine, there’s a whole lot to love!
Virtually every Food Town purchase adds points to your account. (The only exceptions are alcohol, beer, wine, tobacco, pharmacy prescriptions, gift cards, phone cards, postage stamps, money orders and lottery tickets.) You receive one point for every dollar spent — and when you accumulate 100 points, you can redeem a reward for $1 off your next purchase. If you prefer, you can save your points for bigger rewards! You can redeem 100 points for $1 off, 500 points for $5 off or 1,000 points for $10 off.
How do you redeem a Food Town+ reward? It’s easy! If one is available, a Rewards tab will appear on the Savings+ Pad screen during checkout. Simply tap the screen to take advantage. Just remember, points expire after 90 days. Don’t let those hard-earned rewards go to waste!
As we’ve mentioned, you can take full advantage of Food Town savings and rewards without ever pulling out a smartphone. If you like using apps, however, the Food Town+ app does offer a few shortcuts and special tools that can add ease to your shopping experience.
