Food Town is proud to announce we have once again been recognized with The Shelby Report’s Exceptional Independents Award. Now in its fourth year, the awards program celebrates independent grocery operators whose innovation, dedication and community leadership help them stand out in the industry.
Winners for 2025 were announced on Feb. 2, 2026, during the National Grocers Association (NGA) Show in Las Vegas. This marks Food Town’s second Exceptional Independents Award, with the first coming during the program’s inaugural year in 2023.
As a family-owned company serving Greater Houston for more than 30 years, Food Town believes that being an independent grocer means more than simply selling groceries. It means supporting local communities, building lasting relationships with customers and vendor partners, and finding new ways to deliver value and convenience to those we serve.
