This easy Slow Cooker Choriqueso combines savory chorizo, melted cheese and rich crema—and the crockpot keeps it warm and ready for dipping. It’s perfect for game day, movie night, or any fall gathering!
Ingredients
1 package (12 oz.) Hot or Mild Chorizo
1 package (16 oz.) Cheddar or Jalapeño Quesadilla Blend
1 cup Crema Natural
1 can (10 oz.) diced tomatoes with green chiles, drained
½ teaspoon garlic powder
Optional: sliced jalapeños, chopped cilantro or green onions
Tortilla chips, for serving
Directions
Remove the chorizo from its casing and cook it in a skillet over medium heat, breaking it into crumbles. Drain any excess grease.
Add the cooked chorizo, cheese, crema, diced tomatoes and garlic powder to a slow cooker.
Cover and cook on LOW for 1½ to 2 hours, stirring every 30 minutes, until the cheese is completely melted and smooth.
If the queso becomes too thick, stir in a small amount of milk until it reaches the desired consistency.
Garnish as desired and serve warm with tortilla chips.
