Food Town Tony's Redneck Rice

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Cook white rice according to instructions. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. In a large skillet, brown ground beef with 1 tsp of creole seasoning (or 1 Tablespoon of No Salt Seasoning). Drain and remove from skillet.
  3. In same skillet, brown sliced smoked sausage, and saute diced red bell pepper, diced celery, and the white ends of the green onions—season with 1/4 tsp of creole seasoning. Once done, remove from heat.
  4. Add ground beef and cooked rice to skillet. Add paprika and stir to combine.
  5. Stir in 1/2 cup of cheese, then top the remaining skillet mixture with remaining cheese. Bake for 10 minutes or until cheese is melted.

Garnish with sliced green onion, soy sauce, and sriracha.

  • 3 stalks of celery diced
  • 3 cups cooked rice
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning or No Salt Seasoning or your favorite all-purpose seasoning
  • 3 Tablespoons of paprika
  • Garnish: sliced, green onion, soy sauce, sriracha
