Sweet Texas Trash Pie

Yield: 8 to 12 servings

Ingredients

• 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
• 1 cup caramel bits, or *butterscotch chips
• 1 cup graham crackers, crushed
• 1 cup shredded sweetened coconut
• 1 cup pecans, chopped
• 1 cup pretzels, roughly chopped
• ½ cup butter, melted
• 1 (14-oz) can sweetened condensed milk
• 1 (9-in) frozen deep dish pie crust

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350ºF.
2. In a large mixing bowl, mix together chocolate chips, caramel, graham crackers, coconut, pecans, and pretzels**.  Add melted butter and sweetened condensed milk. Stir until combined.
3. Spread filling into pie crust.
4. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes. Cool on a wire rack.

*Butterscotch chips can be substituted for caramel bits.  **Pretzels can be pressed onto top of pie to keep their texture more crunchy.
